MUG MAKING workshop. A fun hands on clay workshop. You will be introduced to the different clays, tools, how to add details and secrets to make it fun. You’ll learn the process of making a pinch pot, and a sculptural hand built mug.
You will learn methods and designs and the science of handle making, attaching handles to a mug, as well as adding designs to the mug.
This workshop is designed for beginners and is set in a relaxed garden environment.
You will be guided through the process and have the ability to ask a lot questions.
When your mugs are created we discuss colours for glaze. Then the mugs will be taken back to my studio where they will dry, be fired, then glazed then fired again. This process takes about 3 weeks. Once complete, the mugs will be brought back to Clever Crow Farm, for pick up.
Aprons, tools and supplies are all provided. Please bring a personal water bottle. Coffee/Tea/soft drinks and light snacks are included too. If you require a lunch, please bring it with you.
Rings should be left at home, as working with clay is like a mud bath for your hands. This class is limited to 10 people. Cost is $65 per person. This is an outdoor class, in a field surrounded by rows of vegetables, under the shade of large market tents. Wear comfortable shoes and clothing and be prepared to have a lot of FUN!
To register, please email clevercrowfarm@gmail.com or come into the Farm Store at 7911 Island Hwy, Black Creek, BC.
